Farmers’ Association Dika

Farmers’ Association Dika was created by female farmers of Samtskhe-Javakheti region. Majority of farmers have small land and they struggle to generate sufficient income to sustain families. Therefore, the association promotes high value crops, mostly focusing on Georgian ancient wheat that is very well suited for the local climate and has higher nutrition value. Due to these factors the demand on local market is growing that will enable local farmers to generate more income. The Association collaborates with local farmers and links them to local consumers, promoting shorter value chains.
